EUDR for traders
EUDR for traders: no statements, but records you must be able to show.
The 2025 amendment took due diligence statements off traders and downstream operators for products already covered by one. What remains is a record: who supplied you, who you supplied, and the reference numbers that connect them.
- Data hosted in the EU
- Files straight to the EU Information System
- Encrypted, GDPR, DPA included
- Five-year audit trail
EUDR for traders
What you get
Supplier details
Name, trade name, postal address, email and website of each supplier.
Reference numbers
Of the statements, or declaration identifiers, covering what you bought.
Customer details
The same details of each business you supply.
Five years
Kept, and given to the authorities on request.
New information
Passed on at once to authorities and customers when a product may not comply.
Larger traders
Register in the Information System, and verify due diligence where there are substantiated concerns.
What Article 5 asks of traders
Before making products available, hold the details of each supplier and, where the supplier is an operator, the reference numbers of its statements or the identifiers of its simplified declarations. Hold the same details of each business you supply. Keep it all for at least five years and give it to the competent authorities when asked. And if you learn that a product may not comply, tell the authorities and your customers at once.
Larger traders
Traders that are not small or medium-sized enterprises also register in the Information System before placing or making products available, and verify that due diligence was exercised where there are substantiated concerns.
How EUDRplot holds it
Suppliers and customers with their details, products with the reference numbers that cover them, and monitoring on the plots behind those statements if you want to know before your customers do.
Questions
Do traders file due diligence statements?
Not for products already covered by a statement or a simplified declaration. That is the change made by Regulation (EU) 2025/2650.
Does a small trader have to register in the Information System?
No. Registration applies to traders that are not small or medium-sized enterprises.
What if I import as well as trade?
For what you import, you are the operator, with the full obligations. For what you buy inside the EU, you are a trader.
