EUDR geolocation by commodity
The regulation covers seven commodities (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, Art. 2(1)). The geolocation rules are the same for all of them except cattle; the files they produce are not.
Cattle
For cattle, EUDR geolocation refers to every establishment where the animals were kept, and the four-hectare polygon rule does not apply. What that means for the file.
Cocoa
Cocoa comes mostly from small plots, often grouped by cooperatives. How to build and check a cocoa geolocation file: points, polygons, producers and limits.
Coffee
Coffee geolocation under the EUDR: points or polygons, cooperative files, and the 2027 addition of coffee extracts to the product list.
Oil palm
Oil palm geolocation under the EUDR: polygons for plantations, points for small plots, the 25 MB limit, and the 2026 changes to palm derivatives in Annex I.
Rubber
Natural rubber geolocation under the EUDR: smallholder plots, points and polygons, and the 2026 changes to rubber products in Annex I.
Soya
Soya geolocation under the EUDR: polygons for large fields, national datums such as SIRGAS 2000, file size, and the 2026 change excluding soya beans for sowing.
Wood
Wood geolocation under the EUDR: large forest polygons, the extra forest-degradation test, holes in concessions, and the product list changes.
Plausibility ranges
When you set the commodity in the checker, plots outside these sizes are flagged by our own plausibility check, not an Information System rule. They are wide on purpose, to catch units mistakes.
