KML to EUDR GeoJSON converter
Plots drawn in Google Earth are saved as KML or KMZ. This converts them to GeoJSON, renames the fields the Information System reads, closes paths that were drawn as boundaries, and checks the result against every validation rule, without your file leaving this page.
or drop KML or KMZ here.
Or paste GeoJSON
Your file is read by this page, in your browser. It is not uploaded, stored or sent anywhere.
How it works
- Placemark names become ProductionPlace; fields called farmer, country or area become ProducerName, ProducerCountry and Area.
- A path that ends where it started is read as a plot boundary and closed. Every such decision is listed for you to check.
- Altitude, styles and icons are left out. They do not change where a plot is, and they count towards the 25 MB limit.
What the Information System requires
- The Information System accepts coordinates in WGS84 (EPSG:4326) only, as decimal degrees with longitude first. Coordinates in any other system have to be converted before upload. - LineString and MultiLineString geometries are not accepted as production places; plots must be points or polygons. Source: EUDR GeoJSON File Description (EUDR Information System help, updated 17 August 2026), Definitions. Last verified .
Problems this usually finds
Google Earth files have a few habits. A boundary drawn with the Path tool instead of the Polygon tool arrives as a line, which the Information System refuses (This shape type is not accepted for production places (STRU-002)). If the path ends where it started we close it for you and say so; if it does not, you need to finish drawing it. Placemarks without a name leave the plot with no ProductionPlace (PROP-008), and a folder of pins for plots over four hectares runs into A plot over 4 hectares cannot be a single point (PROP-005).
