Shapefile to EUDR GeoJSON converter
Shapefiles from QGIS, ArcGIS or a survey team are often in a national grid or UTM. This reads the coordinate system from the .prj file, converts every coordinate to WGS84 degrees, maps the attribute columns to the names the Information System reads, and checks the result.
or drop a zipped shapefile, or its .shp, .dbf and .prj together here.
Or paste GeoJSON
Your file is read by this page, in your browser. It is not uploaded, stored or sent anywhere.
How it works
- Open the .zip, or select the .shp, .dbf and .prj together.
- If the .prj is missing and the numbers are metres, we work out the UTM zone from the declared country, and tell you we did. If it is ambiguous, you choose.
- Every coordinate is converted to WGS84 and rounded to six decimals.
What the Information System requires
- The Information System accepts coordinates in WGS84 (EPSG:4326) only, as decimal degrees with longitude first. Coordinates in any other system have to be converted before upload. Problems this usually finds
The most common is a file in metres rather than degrees (UTM or a national grid),
which the Information System does not convert (These coordinates are not in WGS84 degrees (COORD-006)). A zip
without its .prj leaves the coordinate system to be worked out; we only guess when a
single UTM zone puts every plot inside the declared country. Attribute tables exported
from spreadsheets often carry the area as text (Area is written as text instead of a number (PROP-003)) or with a
column called area_ha instead of Area (A property name is misspelled or has the wrong capitals (PROP-001)).
