EUDR risk assessment

An EUDR risk assessment with the evidence beside each criterion.

Article 10 lists what an operator weighs before concluding that the risk is negligible. EUDRplot sets out each criterion for each product, shows what it already knows, and records how you decided.

What Article 10 asks you to weigh

The country's risk classification, and the risk within it. The presence of forest and of indigenous peoples. Consultation and claims from indigenous peoples. Deforestation and degradation in the area. The reliability of information, including corruption, document fraud and law enforcement. Supply-chain complexity and the risk of mixing with products of unknown origin or that are not compliant. Circumvention. Concerns about the country, such as sanctions. And any complementary information, such as certification, where it is relevant.

What the app already knows

For each criterion, EUDRplot lists the facts it holds: the country benchmark, errors in the plot files, plots that were forest in 2020, tree cover loss since 2021, plots overlapping another supplier's, declarations not answered yes, documents expired or expiring. You see them before you rate.

A record you can show

Concluding records who concluded, when, and with which facts, and produces a PDF. If an authority asks why you placed a product on the market, the answer is that record.

Questions

Is the risk assessment automatic?

No, and it should not be. The regulation makes it the operator's judgement. EUDRplot gathers the evidence and records the reasoning; you decide.

What changes for low-risk countries?

If every country of production is classed as low risk, simplified due diligence applies and the assessment is not required unless you learn of something that points to a risk. EUDRplot still asks you to consider supply-chain complexity and the risk of mixing.

How often is it reviewed?

At least once a year, and whenever new information arrives, such as a deforestation alert on one of the plots.
