EUDR GeoJSON validator
A free EUDR GeoJSON validator that also fixes the file.
Open a GeoJSON, KML, shapefile or CSV. EUDRplot checks it against the EU Information System's rules, shows each problem on the map, and repairs what can be repaired safely.
- Data hosted in the EU
- Files straight to the EU Information System
- Encrypted, GDPR, DPA included
- Five-year audit trail
EUDR GeoJSON validator
What you get
41 checks
From the Commission's GeoJSON file description and the Information System's validation rules, each pointing at the exact place in the file.
Guarded fixes
Safe fixes in one click. Geometry repairs only after you have seen the change in hectares, and never beyond 2%.
Never uploaded
The validator runs in your browser. The file is read on your device, and the page's security policy stops it being sent anywhere.
Forest check
Each plot against the EU's map of forest in 2020, and tree cover loss since.
Every error explained
Why the Information System rejects each problem, and how to fix it in the checker or in QGIS.
PDF report
A record of the check with the file's hash and the rule-set version, to keep or send.
What gets checked
The file itself: that it is JSON, UTF-8, under the 25 MB limit and a FeatureCollection. The coordinates: in range, in WGS 84, not swapped, with at least six decimals. The shapes: closed rings, no self-intersections, no holes the system refuses. And the properties: ProducerCountry, the Area of a point, and plots over four hectares that are points when they should be polygons.
Why validate before uploading
The Information System rejects a file that breaks its rules, and its messages do not always say where. A supplier file with one self-intersecting polygon among two thousand blocks the whole statement. Finding that in the validator takes seconds.
Plausibility, not only format
Beyond the system's rules, the validator flags what is valid but unlikely: a plot centred outside its producer country, two plots that overlap, an area far from what was declared. These are the questions an authority would ask.

Is the validator free?
Yes, with no account and no limit on the number of files you check.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Validation happens in your browser. Only map tiles, and the forest map when you ask for it, are fetched from the internet.
Does a clean result mean the Information System will accept the file?
It means the file passes every rule we check, which are the published ones. It is a pre-submission check, not a guarantee of acceptance.
Can I validate files automatically?
Yes. The same rules are available through the REST API, the MCP server and a command-line tool.
