In short
Remove the quotation marks around the numbers.

What the Information System does

A position is "an array of numbers" (GeoJSON File Description, Definitions) (RFC 7946, §3.1.1). The specification's data representation issues show what happens to a quoted value: for Area, "3" in quotes "is not recognized as a number" and becomes 0 (GeoJSON File Description, Common errors 14). A quoted coordinate is not a position at all.

Why it happens

[-4.377412, 5.324871] is a position. ["-4.377412", "5.324871"] is two pieces of text that happen to look like numbers.

Quoted numbers come from code that builds GeoJSON by gluing strings together, and from spreadsheet exports where the coordinate column was formatted as text, often because a leading minus sign or a decimal comma made the spreadsheet treat it as text.

What the checker reports for this file:

  1. This coordinate is written in quotation marks, so it is text, not a number. The position is lost., line 1, column 174
After the fix
After the fix. Removed the quotation marks from 2 coordinate values across 1 plot, so they are numbers again. Centred on 6.1235° N, 5.1235° W.

Fix it in EUDRplot

  1. Open the file in the checker. Quoted coordinates are listed; the map cannot place those plots until they are fixed.
  2. Remove the quotes. Choose Make the coordinates numbers, or Fix N safe problems. Only the quotation marks are removed; the digits stay exactly as they were.

Fix it in QGIS

GDAL, which QGIS uses to read GeoJSON, cannot read a quoted coordinate as a position, so the feature either fails to load or loads without a shape. The fix is in the text, remove the quotation marks around each number and the checker does it for the whole file at once.
