Error. The Information System rejects the file, or silently stores something other than what you meant.

No, this needs a decision only you can make.
In short
Add a geometry to the feature, or remove the feature.

What the Information System does

A feature without a geometry has no location, so there is nothing to process as a production place. The GeoJSON standard allows a null geometry for "unlocated" features (RFC 7946, §3.2), but the Information System needs a location for every production place in the file (Information System validation rules, Mandatory geolocation).

Why it happens

"geometry": null is legal GeoJSON: it means "a thing with properties but no known location". In an EUDR file it is a plot with a name and no place.

It usually comes from a spreadsheet where some rows had no coordinates, or from a GIS export that included records whose shape was never drawn. Converting a CSV with empty coordinate cells produces exactly this, which is why the checker lists these features by name: the fix is to go back to whoever collected the data.

A broken example

{
  "type": "FeatureCollection",
  "features": [
    {
      "type": "Feature",
      "properties": {
        "ProducerCountry": "CI",
        "ProductionPlace": "No shape",
        "Area": 1
      },
      "geometry": null
    }
  ]
}

What the checker reports for this file:

  1. This plot has no geometry, so it records no location., line 4, column 5

Fix it in EUDRplot

  1. Open the file in the checker. Features with no geometry are listed by their ProducerName and ProductionPlace, so you can tell whose plot it is.
  2. Supply the location, or remove the feature. If the plot should be in the file, add its point or polygon. If the feature is a leftover (an empty row, a deleted plot) delete it in the editor.

Fix it in QGIS

  1. Find the empty features. Select by expression: geometry($currentfeature) IS NULL, or open the attribute table and sort by the geometry column.
  2. Remove them, or digitise them. Run Remove null geometries to drop them all; or, in edit mode, use Add Polygon Feature to draw the missing ones.
