EORI number | EUDR glossary
The EORI number identifies an economic operator to EU customs, and it is part of a due diligence statement for goods entering or leaving the EU.
EORI stands for Economic Operators Registration and Identification. It is the EU-wide number customs uses to identify a business, issued under the Union Customs Code.
The regulation does not define it, but uses it: a due diligence statement contains the operator's name, address and, for products entering or leaving the market, the EORI number (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, Annex II). It has nothing to do with the geolocation file, but it is a common reason a statement is incomplete.
