Placing on the market | EUDR glossary
Placing on the market means the first making available of a relevant product on the EU market: the moment a due diligence statement is due.
‘placing on the market’ means the first making available of a relevant commodity or relevant product on the Union market
"First" is the important word. Placing on the market happens once per product, usually at import, when goods are released for free circulation. Every later sale is "making available" (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, Art. 2(18)).
The statement, and so the geolocation, must be available before this moment (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, Art. 4(2)).
