Establishment (cattle) | EUDR glossary
For cattle, EUDR geolocation refers to establishments where the animals were kept. The definition, and what it means for the file.
‘establishment’ means any premises, structure, or, in the case of open-air farming, any environment or place, where livestock are kept, on a temporary or permanent basis
For products containing or made from cattle, "the geolocation shall refer to all the establishments where the cattle were kept" (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, Art. 9(1)(d)): every farm, ranch or feedlot in the animal's life, not only the last one.
The four-hectare polygon rule does not apply to cattle (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, Art. 2(28)), and the Information System does not raise its large-point error when the commodity is cattle (Information System validation rules, Geolocation area for point). So a large ranch can be given as a point. Set the commodity to cattle in the checker and the four-hectare message becomes a note.
